25th Anniversary Staycation
We adore our city and loved supporting local businesses and wanted to share it with you!
December 10th Corey and I celebrated our anniversary. Wow 25 years of marriage! We have always talked about what grand celebration we would have to celebrate our anniversary. We could renew our vows to each other and go to an island resort, you know the ones with the hut over the ocean. Have that honeymoon we never really took. Well when your 25th anniversary falls in the middle of a pandemic all those grand ideas get scratched. So we made the best of it and did a little 2 day staycation in Nashville. Hey one plus is since we couldn't do all this I get to finally remodel my kitchen!
Our 2 day staycation started with checking into Omni Nashville Hotel. This is one of our favorite hotels in Nashville. We have celebrated a couple of Anniversaries here. The views are spectacular, the rooms are clean, staff are great.
Our first night we enjoyed dinner at Kayne Prime. The staff were all so sweet, everyone wished us a Happy Anniversary and took excellent care of us all night. The food pairings were amazing! We started with Lobster and popcorn, you read that correct! It was something I never would have thought to eat together but it was so delicious! We also had cotton candy bacon, Caesar salad, risotto tots, mushrooms, bread, steaks and the most amazing banana bread dessert. I totally missed getting pictures of the steak and dessert!
Friday morning we started it with Drunken Donuts delivered to our hotel and coffee from Bongo Java downstairs in the hotel. If you are staying in the Nashville Area you need to have these donuts delivered to you! The perfect way to start the morning off.
Even though we didn't renew our vows or go on the grand vacation I still wanted to have professional photos taken to have as memories of our 25th Anniversary. I knew exactly who the perfect person was! Christy is the owner of Photo Walk Nashville and is an amazing photographer. I am so awkward in front of a camera and she coaches and encourages you. She knows where and how you need to be to capture the best photos. The best part is she takes you on a tour so your pictures all have a different scenery. Next up will be new family photos.
During our photoshoot tour with Christy, she had told us about the coffee and biscuits from Barista Parlor so we of course had to go check it out after our photoshoot! We loved it! Thanks for the recommendation Christy.
Next up we headed over to Marathon and did a tasting at Green Brier Distillery and learned the history of their brand.
If you've been following me then you know we can't go to Marathon and not go visit our friends at Corsair Distillery. We got to try out a few of their new winter drinks. They are true artist when it comes to crafting perfect cocktails. Be sure to go stop in for a tour, tasting or just enjoy a cocktail.
Friday night The Optimist treated us to an amazing dinner! Everything we tried was so delicious and we tried a lot of things. Our waitress was so sweet she new it was our 25th Anniversary and that we didn't get to go for an island vacation so she personalized a menu for us to remember our staycation!
Saturday we took it easy and walked around parts of Nashville. We started with breakfast and coffee at a local place called Leaf N Brew. Later we stopped in for pizza at the famous Gino's East. We love that we can get Chicago Deep Dish here in Nashville. The waitress was so sweet she brought out a warm deep dish brownie dessert for our anniversary!
I hope you have enjoyed my roundup from all the amazing local businesses we supported during our 25th Anniversary Staycation here in Nashville. I would love to hear from you after you visit any of these places or if you already have been to them!
Happy New Year
Michelle and Corey
