Buttercream Icing


1 cup unsalted butter (softened)

1 cup shortening

1 teaspoon salt

1 Tablespoon vanilla

8 cups powdered sugar (sifted)

¾-1 cup heavy whipping cream


Beat butter and shortening for a few minutes. Scrape sides add salt and vanilla mix until incorporated. Sift in the powdered sugar. Start mixer on lowest speed and slowly add heavy whipping cream. Once powder sugar is mixed turn mixer to medium and mix for 3-5 minutes.
